Quiz Builder Pricing: How Tools Charge and What to Check
Quiz builder pricing usually follows one of four models: by leads or responses, by completions or views, by features on a flat plan, or by AI usage. To compare tools, work out what each model costs in your best month, not your average one.
This guide takes you through a five-step estimate you can do with your own numbers.
How do quiz builders charge?
Here are the four models, and how each behaves when a quiz takes off.
| Model | You pay for | When your quiz does well | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Leads or responses | People who submit | The bill rises with success | Low, steady volume |
| Views or completions | People who take the quiz | The bill rises with traffic | Predictable traffic |
| Flat plan by features | A fixed set of features | The bill stays the same | Growing or spiky traffic |
| AI usage or credits | What the AI generates | The bill depends on your building | Creators who build with AI |
Many tools mix these. A plan may be flat up to a limit, with overage charges or a forced upgrade past it. So the real number is often in the small print.
How do you estimate your real cost?
Follow these five steps for each tool on your shortlist. Use the tool’s current pricing page, since plans change.
Step 1: Work out your best month
Do not plan for a quiet month. Estimate the traffic you would get if a post did well, or if you ran paid ads during a launch. That is the month when a pricing model will hurt or help.
Step 2: Turn traffic into billable units
Find what the tool counts. If it counts leads, estimate how many visitors would finish and submit. Use your own numbers if you have them. If you do not, try a cautious guess and a generous one, then work out both.
Step 3: Check what happens at the limit
This is the question that matters. Ask what happens when you pass your plan’s limit. Options include a charge per extra lead, an automatic upgrade, or a quiz that stops collecting leads at the worst moment. Look for that answer before you commit.
Step 4: List what the plan leaves out
Check that the plan you priced has what you need:
- The email integration you use
- A custom domain
- Removal of the tool’s badge
- Analytics at the question level
- A/B testing
- Extra seats
A plan that looks cheap may need an upgrade for one of these.
Step 5: Compare yearly cost
Add twelve months together, including any upgrade from step 3. Then compare yearly billing, which often comes with a discount, against the flexibility of paying monthly.
At the end you have one yearly number per tool, for your best-case traffic, and you can compare those directly.
How does Quizzerfy price?
Quizzerfy does not price by leads, responses or completions. Plans differ by live quizzes, AI credits and team features, and leads are unlimited on every plan.
| Pro | Ultra | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | $29/mo or $290/yr | $59/mo or $590/yr |
| Live quizzes | 10 | Unlimited |
| Leads and completions | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| AI credits | 150 a month | 400 a month |
| Custom domains | 1 | 5 |
| Integrations | Kit, Beehiiv, Mailchimp, Zapier, webhooks | Same as Pro |
| Analytics | Full | Full |
| A/B tests | No | Yes |
| Seats | 1 | 3 |
Both plans start with a 7-day free trial, and yearly billing saves two months. The latest numbers are always in the pricing section.
What do AI credits buy?
Credits only pay for AI work inside the app.
- Generating a full funnel costs 10 credits.
- Regenerating a branch costs 2.
- A tweak or a rewrite costs 1.
Manual edits and your own AI through MCP cost no credits, so you could build every quiz without spending one. If an AI action fails, no credits are used.
Monthly credits do not roll over. They reset on your billing date and are used first. Paid plans can also add a top-up of 100 credits for $9, which lasts 12 months and survives plan changes.
What should you check before you commit to a plan?
A free plan or a free trial can be a good way to test a tool, as long as you know where its edges are. Before you build on one, read for these limits.
- Volume caps. Does the plan stop at a set number of responses or leads, and what happens to the quiz then?
- Time limits. Is it free for good, or only for a trial period?
- Branding. Does the tool’s badge show on your quiz?
- Export. Can you take your leads out if you leave?
- Publishing. Can you put a quiz live, or only build one?
Ask those questions of Quizzerfy too. It has no free plan: Pro and Ultra start with a 7-day free trial with the full plan. There is no lead cap, you can remove the Quizzerfy badge, and you can export your leads as a CSV.
Which Quizzerfy plan should you choose?
Start with what you sell. Pro suits creators selling one product at a time who want email integrations, full analytics and the badge removed. Ultra suits a catalog and a small team, and it adds A/B tests.
Whatever you choose, run the estimate above against other tools too. For the wider comparison, read quiz maker alternatives.
